Done Dirt Cheap DVD Confirm Continuing Trend For Physical DVDs

Leading Australian online DVD retailer Done Dirt Cheap DVD confirmed in an interview with Sydney based Eleven Media the continuing trend for ownership of physical DVDs over digital downloads.

North Melbourne, Australia - December 15, 2018 /PressCable/ —

And even with new movies and TV shows releasing every week, Australians still prefer to have physical copies of them, Eleven Media was surprised to learn that physical DVD content generates approximately three times more revenue than digital movie purchases.

Keran Wicks, Founder and CEO of Done Dirt Cheap DVD, when interviewed by Eleven Media said, “The strong demand for physical DVD and Blu-ray ownership over digital downloads is as strong as ever, particularly in Australia. There are many reasons for this that include DVDs being given as gifts, especially as Christmas stocking fillers at this time of year, ownership of them by collectors and fans of an actor, movie or TV series. Many also find it extremely cost effective to own the physical DVD if they want to view the content over and over as many movie enthusiasts do.”

Keran added “We’re also seeing consumers getting confused and frustrated with the online services – titles seem to go without warning, and often there just aren’t enough titles that appeal. Finding and watching your favourite movie or the latest TV series shouldn’t have to be hard.”

Australians have always been voracious consumers of movies, TV series and documentaries, even from the earliest days. Today, there has never been such a wealth of entertainment, and the production of it continues to grow at an extraordinary rate.

There are over 30,000 titles on DVD and Done Dirt Cheap DVD have many from as little at $4.95. “Demand is always strong for Star Trek, Star Wars and Game of Thrones, especially at the moment with the last in the series screening in April next year. The TV series Air Crash Investigation and Deadliest Catch are also extremely popular, regardless of what time of the year it is” said Keran.
