New York City, Jan 15, 2021 ( - A firm believer in "repairing before replacing", Dr. Spitalieri is a highly trained neurosurgeon who treats people with a wide range of neurological issues at The Spine Center at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He has extensive experience helping people with spinal fractures live a more active life.

The highly-respected team at The Spine Center at Yavapai Regional Medical Center features physicians who specialize in neurosurgical medicine and physiatry, as well as highly skilled advanced clinical practitioners. They collaborate closely to offer clinically proven approaches to restore the quality of life using innovative and evidence-based methods that improve mobility, comfort, and function.

A graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Spitalieri pursued a residency in neurosurgery at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California. This was followed by a fellowship in neurosurgery at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and a fellowship in pediatric spine surgery at Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia.

An expert in minimally invasive procedures, he is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). The AOBS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

What most individuals are not aware of is that Dr. Spitalier settled on his career choice when he was seven years old, after becoming exposed to the workings of the brain and spine while perusing one of his father's college anatomy textbooks. Later on, he was influenced by the neurosurgeon, Martin Swiecicki, MD.

While the tools he uses to treat patients are state-of-the-art, Dr. Spitalieri's strong work ethic and problem-solving skills are the same as when he worked alongside his father in the family's garage in New Jersey.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders that affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, certain types of birth defects, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Spitalieri has been the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2017, 2018), Patients' Choice Award (2017, 2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2017, 2018).

After living in large urban areas, he and his wife Donna - a Labor and Delivery Nurse and Nurse Midwife - decided they wanted to live in less populated communities. The couple learned about the Quad Cities through Kiplinger's Magazine, which touted the area's four mild seasons and diverse activities ranging from the arts to the outdoors. "We love it here. The people are friendly and we always find something to do."

An interesting fact about Dr. Spitalieri is that he is a talented woodworker who makes his own woodworking tools.
